Wheteher Crouch plays tonight in the Champions League at Anfield against Anderlecht is anybody's guess, although as the manager has not picked the same team for 40matches,they is a chance he may well make the starting line-up.Iy all seems such a long time ago since we were rejoicing Reds success in Istanbul. Then the annual great summer "will he, won;'t he " debate over Steven Gerrard signing a new contract ensued and even that reached a successful conclusion. Liverpool fans believed a bright future was just around the corner. The hero was staying ,the manager seemed to be moving in the right direction and the board are going to release more money for players.
If you havent been watching closely , then Benitez was spending more than you'd think. Last year's signings Djibril Cisse, Xabi Alonso, Luis Garcia and Josemi , all added up to more than 30million pounds and then there was nearly 19million spent this summer on Crouch, Jose Manuel Reina and Mohamed Sissoko and , added to that, the money commited to Gerrard's new deal. He has also returned 22million pounds in prize money from the Champions league , so on the final day of reckoning he won't be ranked alongside the all time great overspenders.
A win tonight against Anderlaecht will put Liverpool on ten points and as long as Chelsea beat Real Betis , both English teams will be through to the knockout stage of the Champions League. Sure that us progress --- they had to wait until the final moments of the final group game last season to secure their passage. Their European performances have been terrific , their away results splendid and they are actually consistent in this competition. Which only adds to the frustration of their fans; if they can do it on this stage, why not on tuesday evening at Selhurst Park?

Liverpool won ! 3-0, just as the critics in times newspaper , Crouch inconsistency will result to more sitting on the bench and more chances for the growing morientes in creativity. haha.
