Sunday

Spend the whole day, catching up the lots and loads of seminars i have to present for the coming week. the main highlight of that sunday is The international nite dinner. The Lord Mayor Of Leeds, invited 100 students for civic reception dinner at the town hall. dress code: smart/ national dress.

Well, the night was great. good sherperds pie. they only serve sherperds pie. but in many flavors la. not so bad la. at least theres some variety.i met many new friends there. cant really recall much what happen that night. i just know it was fun fun and the english dances are nice. they even got the crowd to participate with them.

oh oh oh..i remember somethin happen that nite. the emce was randomly goin around the crowd of people askin people whats their nationality and asking them to say Hi loud loud on the mic. haha. the mic went straight to me, and as a proud malaysian, i wanted to shout Malaysia Boleh!!! haha.

the rest of the night is just photo takin with friends and new friends.

Monday

nothing much, same routine, reading e&t. a law students life can be boring at times. so much to read la. somemore seminar have to prepare. its only two days from now. so sad i couldnt join the lupton cg to prepare their mini mission week project, giving out candy to all residents of lupton and invites to the carol concert.

at night. i decided to take a break from the many many words in books. and go watch harry potter. its so so nice la. i like the british born chinese girl, the one harry potter wanted to take her for the dance, cho chang..hope i spelled her name correctly. haha. shes so..hmm. nvmd. =P.

while walking back, the sky is so beautifully decorated with stars. there are so many stars. the weather is nice. not too cold. the skies is clear. no clouds. the stars displaying everywhere. so very nice. i just dunno how to describe , God is such a wonderful creator.

now im back here. tired. got somemore texts to read.but tired liou . cant go on. i got work tommorow somemore! ish. looks like , have to sleep late tommorow to compensate the lost time. but then again its julee's birthday. shes like one of the sweetest leeds girl i have ever met, she walk all the way so far from her place to lupton ,headingley at night to celebrate my birthday and spare some time. tommorow nite they will be havin a dinner for her at red chillis. im still thinking whether to go , or to just get a present, or to just send a card, hmm..tak tahu la. this seminar sucks , so much, really cant have a proper fun week with it around.

somemore on thursday nite, its the carol concert, that i must go. its a must.haha. my cg will be helpin out in the minced pies. will be fun.

Restricted Praise Is Not Praise

Today,another great day at work and in the chapel. for the first time i went to join the saturday nite live organise by the christian union every weekend. its something like youth meeting but its all uni students. i had great time there. my new lupton flat residence cg friends. accompanied me to cellgroup.i felt so blessed. This group of english people are so close to me, they talk a lot to me, askin hows my week and all, wait for me, so that we can go to saturday nite live together. its really nice of them.

The pastor preach from the book of psalms on forgiveness. the joy of forgiveness. it was a great message. the pastor reminded me of pastor charles back in the youth days.

After saturday nite Live, i went to meet some people who announced about needing volunteers to help them in their outreach to young schooling children who arent able to go to church. to be honest, im so surprise that there are actually so many parents here even in English land, who don't want to bring their kids to church. anyway back to the story, so yea..i got some details about the outreach and to be honest, im quite keen in helping. But anyway, shall pray & see where God leads. Its my final year. and i have a job too. i doubt i have the time for it.

Got back really late,cos talk talk to Christian union until so late, hehe, lupton residence cg will be meeting up on monday, so that we can launch the mission week in our residence. we are playying to wrap many many candies and a hot chocolate to all the flats in lupton. and the same time tell them about the Carol Concert coming up this thursday!!! woohoo..

I'm excited on carol concert, its an event organised by the C.U. , to reach out and tell people the meaning of Christmas. We are giving out free minced pies and mulled wine to everybody. the flyer is awesome.

Besides that, have been studyin studying, theres much i have to catch up in my studies.

anyway, just thought of sharing with you something i read in the bible. 2 chronicles 5! Go read it the whole chapter. Its about Solomon bringing the Ark to the Temple of God. What striks me most about this chapter is the great unity of the people. and wooh...read on there's 120 sounding trumpets. i have been in band thro out my pfs days. a line of five people with trumpets is enuff to make people notice the band is around. imagine 120 trumpters!!! waa laoo... i couldnt imagine the atmosphere during that time. so so so awesome Cool. Gods presence came down , filing the temple with a cloud. till the priest could not perform their service. What great tangible presence of God!

God is good to me la. to be honest, i never had a boring time in Leeds. when i reflect of how i was a month ago , and now, i can say that God really turn my life around and let me see things way differently. haha.

Tommorow The Lord Mayor of Leeds ( Yang berhormat haha) is having a dinner for 200 hundred international students in Leeds. Free dinner . porsh one! have to dress up and all. haha. I'm so blessed to be one of the 200. this is the ood part of always being in the international office of leeds, not only you get free coffee and great hang out places, you get to be one of the first to claim the limited invites in Leeds. haha.

oh ya, i bought a trenchcoat today from H & M store. so so so cho cho cho nice. i love it. man, here comes matrix Neo-Ben. muahaha.

Wallace & Gromit : The Wrong Trousers

Its another wonderful night again for me here in Leeds. Aimee Clark invited me, Joy and boonkiat and aimee ( the malaysian one) over her place for dinner.

she cooked sherperds pie. its so so so nice. well, its my first sherperds pie. and actually its the firsttime i have a dinner treat by a mat salleh. the feeling is wonderful. after dinner we watch some episodes of friends season2 and wallace and gromit. its famous in britain. the makers for this show are the makers of " chicken run".

hmm..thats basically a brief summary of what i did tonite and today. i cant blog long. cos i have to have a good nap and wakey early tommorow to catch up some work.

today is such a fine day. it was bright and shiney. the sun shine so geng. one of the most beautiful ever sine such a long time. i onlined in the morning for a while cos i have lotsa stuff to settle for my assignment. thank God i did it all before 12. aimee and andrea ajak me for doner kebab and fish&chips , i went with them. i see the weather so nice. so i actually didnt really wear thick clothing. just a thin jacket over. and after a 20minute walk. i feel the chill real bad. my friends say i was deceived by the sun, thinking the weather is warm. yes theres is sunshine, the air the tempreture around is still cold!!!.

had the biggest kebab in my life. so much.till i only ate half of it. and save it for dinner.
during the night i went to meet up with the lupton hall christian union people.and we went to Sarah's house ( my cg leader) for CG. lotsa chit chat in the beginning with coffee and tea. nothing really much la. haha. we worshiped God by singing along a cd player. its weird to me. then had sharing sessions. reading word. the typical kind of cg activities. then after cg we make paper chains for next week's Christian union christmas carol concert.

how was it? hmm.. i would say its fun. i got to know new friends there. and its the firsttime im actually the only international there. the whole cg consist of english people, no internationals also. they are nice people. real friendly. always first to talk. makes u feel part of the group. its nice. i really enjoyd it a lot.gives me a chance to practice the british accent too.haha. PRaise God!!!

Then when i got back home, teruk leh. i check my mail and my dissertation supervisor emailed me, and told me he felt that my disertation topic is lack in dept and has already been much dealt in textbooks ( i mean like duh!!! thats why i choose that topic). so yea, am kina frus. i dunno how many times already i have to crack my head up on a dissertation topic. before i came to leeds i have make up my mind on "presumptions" in evidence law. then it got kick , kick kick, so many times, and now tonite i have dcided (again) on a topic which im not familar with, judicial review! man. frus la./ other people dont have any problems with their dissertation topic. why mine has to be modified so many times. sorry for the geramness of this paragraph. just lettin my frustration out. i actually thought of doin some reading on jurisprudence tonight so that tommorow seminar i can be a lot more participative in the discussions. but now i cant...ish..becaue of the research ( again ) on consti law. i have came across this case R v AG (2005), Lord Bingham and Lord Steyn brought out some interesting views concerning parliament supremacy and judicial review. why am i telling you all this? its not like the readers of this blog will understand everythin i have just said.
friday i will be meeting my dissertation supervisor, i hope things will be settled finally this time. im sick of changes in my dissertation. the more it happens the less interest i have in writting it already.

i think im in love

I think im in love with leeds. the place is so wonderful. i see myself fitting so well here. the job here is fun.the pay is crazy. the classes here is acceptable. The friends i make here are like angels. i have also been able to be closer to more english people now. Christian walk here is terrific. theres so much to look forward for the december holidays. will be travelling all around england. still havent found any skiing/snowboarding kaki with me yet though. sobs.

yday i went over to yiting place in oxley. oxley is gorgeous. the best accomodation i have seen so far. their fields are big. very quiet. the room all have their own bathrooms. great common halls. tv rooms. playing fields etc. so so so nice. took lotsa pictures over there with priscilla's camera.

i cooked char koay teow lastnite, with sambal, the sambla really can make the difference, i let linda tried some..since she likes spicy food.haha.abtw talkin about linda, i notice in her room , she actually framed up a picture of me, pris, mike and herself during the tomyam lunch me and priscilla decided to prepare for the two lovely couples.felt that was really nice of her.

and also yday we saw a drama happening outside linda's window, there were police man arresting people by pushing them onto the wall, asking them questions and all. haha. it was so funny, cos they was even a fire engine that came, linda and kelly were laughin hillariously at it.

i finished my cyber law assignment finally!!! phew.. so slow for me to type them down. now i can do my seminars in peace already haha.

today in work, i got a testimony to share. manager shopie, called me while i was working in the kitchen. at first, i was very scared, cos shes kinda fierce.actually shes the only fierce one in burger king. she commented me well. she said i did a good job and she likes it very much. she gaves two thumbs up.hahaha. waaaa that time i kembang like crazy man. its totally God's favor. she's always scolding other workers with the beautiful four letters. and this for the first time i have ever heard her praise somebody and it has to be me. so nice.haha. felt so bless. that alone make me whole week extra special. i realised when we do things for our God , in everything, the favor of the Lord will be upon us. i have learned this beautiful lesson from God and will apply it whenever im at work.

tommorow is christian union's cg meeeting. so nice. cant wait to meet the new friends there.

The old rugged cross

It seems like only yesterday, i saw my sins hang unto that old ragged cross.
I have just came back from encounter weekend.It was refreshing, and my life is so focus all again.

i used to think that "every action has its consequences", " every sin and foolishness, we have to bear its consequences". Well, for me, during the encounter weekend, Christ reminded that they is no consequence which i have to bear from my sin and guilt, if i give it to Him. But how can i? he is sinless, and im all unworthy. he has not done a thing wrong ( which makes him understand me more) .

Friends, never take the power of the of the cross for granted. taking the cross for granted will only make us 1)suffer in guilt,pain and sadness - cos we fail to see that we dont have to bear all this anymore. 2) it will block God's blessing from overflowing in our lives - cos we are always dwelling in our miserable guilt, sin, and pain, this hardly gives any room for God to shower any blessings in us.

The Encounter Weekend was truly life changing again. Now i want to do what i do best - Serve my God.

Besides, i got to know a lot of good christian friends during the encounter. they are from liverpool, cardiff, newcastle, and most of the others are british born chinese.its good its good. its fun.

i have an assignment dateline this thrusday! must get back to work.God bless all of you!

So yea, me , aimee and priscilla went for a LONG walk to oxley residence. its so firggin far and its in the country side of leeds. lotsa trees and big houses everywhere. its a nit freaky man, i there not stay in those big houses at night.

At last after like 30over minute walk. we reach oxley.
waa...its damn nice man. the compound is so big, so much open fields. people playinng soccer at the night field. they have an old bar there, a common hall, tv room, waa man they even have a music room,got pianos and stuff there. so so so nice. haha. and yiting says we come night time not so nice. the scenaries around is very nice she says.man, its beautiful.

will go there again nexttime, the only problem is, its like a 40minute bus trip to uni everyday. weekends i think it will be longer. hehe

well, talk talk about the place but no photos show , nexttime when we go again in the day time. will bring my camera.

Hey friends.

I just came back from a wonderful burfday surprise my friends in lupton held. and not only that, there were so many ppl who came, not only lupton residence friends, but also from far places like hyde park. william, chrissie, maxwell, julee, gene, siaw wan, siou hui, pao fern, andrea, aimee, priscilla, valerie, and kerting, they are all there. so many people. i was so shock by the big screams and surprise. so nice. so fun. am so very happy.

over the whole week, i have been going through one of the toughest times in my year. its very depress and negative week. but that surprise reeally lift my burdens and sorrows up man.

God really use such greeat friends to be with you in crucial times.

i need lotsa support now, lotsa pray, im facing tough times. im so bless that God has provided the friends here to support me. must be the prayers of my friends and family back home.

i got pressies too. beautiful cards. actually this is the first time that im actually "surprised" in a birthday. celebrated with so many friends. its so wonderful. i dunno what to say.speechless. like what gene says : i look shock/stoned when i got in. haha

had yummy dinner, so much food, the girls really cook a lot, so many dishes,about 8 i can count. God bless my girl friends. the cake was waa laaaooo cadburry superb double chocolate cake.

besides the food.The friendship and the silly talk we all have over the night was all wonderful. we did the monkey,gorrila,chimpazee game. gosh it was recorded we didnt know!

im goin to encounter weekend this weekend. God has to deal with me something which i have to really face God with. the pain and hurt is deep. i cant take it anymore.need to go to the healer of my soul.

light saving day is not saving me any sleep. the day in leeds is so short and the night falls by 5pm. by 5pm is as dark as 12midnite. so crazy hor? as a result even when its night late, i wouldnt be sleeping yet, cos so used to being awake even when the day is dark. its really really cho cho cold. sometimes wrong the weather, and there arent any winds yet! haha seems like im always talkin about the weather in my entries again. =P

i got a new jacket.YAY-ness, from GAP Store. very nice very syiok. different from the other jackets. i like the belt buckels on the jacket. nope its not leather, maybe wanna get a leather jacket one day, haha, in a jacket craze. dont care about bajus d, cos here no matter how ugly or nice ur baju is, u are just end up covering it most of the time bcause u have to wear a jacket to keep you warm.

social life have been quiet this week, really quiet, most of the days are just going to class, come back, do assignment and seminar and studying, then sleep. i have work this weekend 8am -5pm! waa laao , first time work on opening store shift. well i think it must be better than closing store shift. closing store shift really sucks.

nothing really much happen la. i read ppl's blog , lepak around Penang, the happening things in Penang and all. makes me refelct i really had a lifetime holiday whenever im in Penang.

Been trying to mix more with the ang mos.havent got the chance to hang out with any of them yet. hopefully, God will decide for me =). i don't intend to come all the way here so far in england just to spend my time with a group of malaysians. if i want to spend my time with a group of malaysians i would have stayed in malaysia, Penang doing law a long time ago. well, i guess time will pass and soon before i leave leeds i will look back and see the great ang mos friends which i will have in my one year here. haha.*keeping fingers cross*

Then the annual great summer "will he, won;'t he " debate over Steven Gerrard signing a new contract ensued and even that reached a successful conclusion. Liverpool fans believed a bright future was just around the corner. The hero was staying ,the manager seemed to be moving in the right direction and the board are going to release more money for players.

If you havent been watching closely , then Benitez was spending more than you'd think. Last year's signings Djibril Cisse, Xabi Alonso, Luis Garcia and Josemi , all added up to more than 30million pounds and then there was nearly 19million spent this summer on Crouch, Jose Manuel Reina and Mohamed Sissoko and , added to that, the money commited to Gerrard's new deal. Crouch didnt score a goal, cisse did it just 12minutes after he was brought into the game. i didnt get to watch the match. SkySports tv didnt show the match.

Tommorow is the Leeds Uni Union Malaysian Fair. Im helping aimee to sell nasi lemak. haha. today when grocery shopping, got ikan bilis! yay-ness.and i also bought this nice nice jacket from GAP store.i love GAP store. and i also bought a straight cut khakis for 9.99pounds. after convert, i still think its worth it.hehe. double yay-ness.!

Daylight saving days are not saving me any time, i have to rush for work, and nites fall as early as 5pm. by 5pm it looks as dark as 12midnite. Been waking up early this days, to catch more day light. daylight is important. =)

hmmm..thats pretty much about what i wanna blog. oh ya Chelsea lost! muahahaha.their first defeat in six months though.thats kinda long. MU's keane got lotsa critics on the players, so bad that they have to remove it out from MUTV.
